Program Content

The program offers a daily choice of classes including salsa, tango, Afro-Cuban dance, Cuban music and salsa Rueda de Casino (the salsa circle dance where you pass partners). Dance classes are divided by skill level where appropriate. Each day has practice time as well, with staff present to assist and answer questions. Private lessons in dance or music are easy to arrange, for an additional charge. All of our classes are held in spaces that are rented exclusively for our groups.

We take you social dancing at Havana's best clubs, including the Casa de la Musica, Café Cantante and others that are less visible. In addition, we create private parties which allow further opportunities to connect with the salsa community and our staff. These events include many music and dance performances.

Our relationship with dancers of the older generation and authorities on Cuban dance and music is another fascinating resource. Interview sessions with special guests offer a deep look into the living salsa culture.

We provide an additional program of visits to Havana's historic and cultural sites, such as the House of Africa, the Museum of Fine Arts, The Museum of Rum, a cigar factory, and other interesting cultural events. A highlight of the program is an evening at one of Havana's spectacular dance shows.

This U.S. Treasury-licensed program presents a full schedule, with many alternate options available. This gives each participant a choice of activities and the ability to pace themselves.
